Clan Maclean Association Western Australia Inc.

Although a Branch existed in Western Australia in the 1950s and 1960s, little is known of it. The present Clan Maclean Association (Western Australia) was inaugurated on the 1st December 1991, following a gathering to gauge interest in September 1991. Nineteen people attended the inaugural meeting and numbers have steadily increased since then.

We have drawn membership from Perth, rural Western Australia and some other states of Australia as well.

To bring together kinfolk who bear the name Maclean whatever spelling or one of our many sept names, in fellowship to revive and foster an interest in Clan lore, history and genealogy and to give a better understanding of our heritage and traditions.

“The mark of a Scot of all classes is that he remembers and cherishes the memory of his forebears, good or bad; and there burns alive in him a sense of identity with the dead even to the twentieth generation.”

Robert Louis Stevenson
